NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL
[PURSUANT TO SECTION 506 and 526(1) OF THE RPTL]
HEARING OF COMPLAINTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assessor of the Town of Crawford, County of Orange, has completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year and that a copy is available at the Assessor’s Office and on the Town’s website at http://www.townofcrawford.org where it may be seen and examined by any interested person until TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2026.
The Assessor’s Office Staff will be available with the roll on:
May 9th (Saturday)
by appointment only
between the hours of
9:00 am and 1:00 pm
May 12th (Tuesday)
4:00 pm and 8:00 pm
May 14th (Thursday)
May 20th (Wednesday)
You may also mail any formal complaints to: The Town of Crawford Assessor’s Office c/o Board of Assessment Review, 121 State Route 302, Pine Bush, NY 12566.
The Board of Assessment Review will meet on:
GRIEVANCE DAY TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2026
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again 6:00pm to 8:00 pm
At the Town Hall, to hear and examine all written complaints in relation to such assessments, and the application of any person believing themself to be aggrieved.

The Assessor is a local government official who is obligated by New York state law to maintain assessment at a uniform percentage of the market value each year. In order to maintain a uniform roll, each year your assessor will need to analyze all of the properties in the municipality; which may include ongoing physical inspections and also taking exterior pictures of parcels. The assessor also reviews every transfer of real property for accuracy. All subdivisions and lot-line changes are completed by the assessor.
Another function of the Assessor’s Office is the administration of many exemptions for which property owners may qualify. Examples are:
ALL exemptions must be filed with our office on or before March 1st
March 1st- Taxable Status Date – Deadline to Apply for ALL Exemptions May 1st- Tentative Roll is Filed July 1st- Final Roll is Filed 4th Tuesday in May- Grievance Day
